Stern Trawler conversion
Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam was drafted to work on the upgrade of SCH 123 Zeeland. A vessel that was built in 1989.
From the end of 2011 till summer 2012, stern trawler SCH 123 ZEELAND from Jaczon BV in Scheveningen visited Shipyard Reimerswaal for a major conversion. The owners decided to completely upgrade the vessel which was built in 1989 at the shipyard YVC. From an old vessel to a new vessel with the help of Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam.
Vessel conversion
This conversion gave the opportunity to also upgrade the layout of the aft deck and trawl gallows, deck crane upgrades, and renewal of the common accommodation spaces.
NH3/CO2 upgrade
The main reason for the upgrade was the existing freezing installation with Freon 22 as refrigerant, which was replaced by an NH3/CO2 system.
